Hastelloy Wire Mesh

Hastelloy wire mesh  is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy wire mesh, which is mainly divided into nickel-chromium alloys and nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys.Hastelloy wire mesh has good corrosion resistance and thermal stability, and is mostly used in aviation and chemical fields.


Features and Applications of Hastelloy Wire Mesh

Features

1 It has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres.

2 Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress cracking corrosion.

Applications 

Hastelloy wire mesh are suitable for a variety of chemical industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. 

The higher molybdenum and chromium content makes the alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion, and the tungsten element further improves the corrosion resistance.

At the same time, Hastelloy C-276 wire mesh is one of the only materials resistant to the corrosion of damp chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. 

It has a high concentration of chloride solution such as ferric chloride and copper chloride. Significant corrosion resistance.

Application fields: heat exchangers, bellows compensators, chemical equipment, flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, paper industry, aerospace applications, acidic environments.


Classfication of Hastelloy Wire Mesh

Hastelloy alloy is mainly divided into three series of B, C, G, 

In order to improve the corrosion resistance and cold and hot workability of Hastelloy,

Hastelloy has made three major improvements, and its development process is as follows:

B series: B → B-2 (00Ni70Mo28) → B-3

C series: C → C-276 (00Cr16Mo16W4) → C-4 (00Cr16Mo16) → C-22 (00Cr22Mo13W3) → C-2000 (00Cr20Mo16)

G series: G → G-3 (00Cr22Ni48Mo7Cu) → G-30 (00Cr30Ni48Mo7Cu)

The most widely used are second-generation materials N10665 (B-2), N10276 (C-276), N06022 (C-22), N06455 (C-4), and N06985 (G-3)

The Hastelloy B-2 wire mesh Offers superior resistance to a wide range of organic acides, as well as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and aluminum chloride.  Resists stress-corrosion cracking.  Favored by the chemical processing industry, it can function in temperatures ranging from ambient to 1500° F

The Hastelloy B-3 wire mesh  exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.It is also resistant to sulfuric, acetic, formic, and phosphoric acid, as well as non oxidizing, pitting and stress cracking corrosion. Often used in the chemical processing industry.

The hastelloy C-22 wire mesh is a versatile alloy with superior overall corrosion resistance.C-22 exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion, reducing and oxidizing environments, chlorine, and solutions contains nitric acid, oxidizing acid, and chloride. Often used in a wide variety of chemical process applications.

The hastelloy C-276 wire mesh is particularly suitable for use in corrosive environments where reducing and oxidizing are common. Resists localized attack, pitting and stress corrosion cracking.  In wide use in the pulp and paper industries, as well as pollution control and chemical processing.
