Tungsten wire mesh has the highest melting point and tensile strength at extreme temperatures. It may be used in medical devices, electrodes, vacuum heating elements and electronic application.
Carpenter 20 wire mesh, also called alloy 20 and incoloy 20 wire mesh, is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy wire mesh. This superalloy also contains copper and molybdenum and is popular in the production of gasoline, solvents, explosives, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and synthetic materials. Alloy 20 wire mesh is mainly used to resist acid attack, especially sulfuric acid. This super alloy has excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion in chemicals containing chloride and sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and nitric acid. It also contains niobium, which stabilizes sensitization and prevents intergranular corrosion. Carpenter 20 combines excellent corrosion resistance with improved mechanical properties and relatively easy manufacturing.
